How we work ?

Manual therapy
Hands-on treatment: joint mobilisation, soft tissue work, stretching and release. This is what changes how something feels in the room, and it matters most early on, when pain and stiffness are stopping you doing the exercises that make the change last.

Exercise prescription
The part that does the long-term work. A small number of exercises, shown and practised in the session, with the load set for where you are now and changed as you improve. Not thirty movements you will never do.

Movement and gait assessment
Looking at how you move, not only at where it hurts. Pain often shows up a long way from its cause: a stiff ankle becomes knee pain, a weak hip becomes back pain. This is the part that stops the same problem coming back in three months.

Education and self-management
Knowing what to do when it flares up on a Sunday, what is safe to push through and what is not, and how to load a healing tendon without setting it back. Most people get more out of this than they expect.

Return to sport and activity
A structured way back to running, lifting, or whatever you stopped doing, with something you have to be able to do before each next stage rather than a date in the diary.

What we use during treatment

None of the equipment below is a treatment on its own. We reach for it when it will speed up what the hands-on work and the exercises are already doing, and we will tell you if it will not.

If you have been told by a GP or consultant that one of these would help you specifically, you can also book a session for it directly. Just say so when you get in touch.

Most people arrive with two questions: what is actually wrong, and how long will this take. The first appointment is built to answer both. After that, treatment is a mix of hands-on work, exercise you are taught properly rather than emailed, and equipment where it genuinely speeds things up. Our physiotherapist is a native Polish speaker, so appointments can be held in Polish or English.
Below is what we use, and when.

shockwave

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment using high-energy shockwaves to stimulate the body's healing process. It's effective for reducing pain, inflammation, and promoting tissue regeneration, commonly used for conditions like tendonitis (such as tennis elbow or Achilles tendonitis), plantar fasciitis, and calcific shoulder tendinitis.

TECAR + IASTM tools

TECAR + IASTM

Experience the combined benefits of TECAR and IASTM therapies for targeted pain relief and enhanced tissue healing. TECAR (Transfer of Energy Capacitive and Resistive) therapy harnesses radiofrequency energy to stimulate deep tissues, increase circulation, and reduce inflammation. Combined with Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), which utilizes specialized tools to break down scar tissue and improve tissue mobility, this dual approach offers effective relief for conditions like muscle strains, joint pain, and soft tissue injuries.

Electrotherapy / TENS

TENS electrotherapy

It's for targeted pain management and enhanced recovery. Ideal for conditions like chronic back pain, osteoarthritis, and muscle strains, this non-invasive therapy uses electrical impulses to alleviate discomfort and promote healing. Whether you're seeking relief from everyday aches or recovering from an injury, Electrotherapy/TENS offers a gentle yet effective solution to improve your quality of life.

Laser Biostimulation

This innovative treatment excels in addressing ailments such as tendon inflammation, wrist discomfort, and muscle strains. Through harnessing the potency of low-level laser energy, it facilitates cellular revitalization, diminishes swelling, and boosts blood flow, presenting a non-intrusive remedy for heightened mobility and holistic wellness.

ultrasound treatment

Ultrasound Therapy

This advanced modality excels in addressing ailments such as muscle spasms, inflammation, and tendon injuries. By utilizing sound waves to penetrate deep into tissues, it stimulates cellular regeneration, reduces swelling, and improves blood circulation, offering a gentle yet effective solution for enhanced mobility and overall wellness.

magnetic field treatment

Magnetic Field Therapy

This innovative approach is particularly effective for conditions like fibromyalgia, neuropathy, and arthritis. By harnessing the power of magnetic fields to penetrate deep into tissues, it promotes cellular rejuvenation, reduces inflammation, and improves circulation, offering a non-invasive solution for heightened mobility and holistic health.

dry cupping therapy

Dry Cupping Therapy

This ancient practice excels in addressing ailments such as muscle tension, migraines, and respiratory issues. By employing suction cups to create negative pressure on the skin, it promotes circulation, releases toxins, and alleviates discomfort.

Dry Needling

Acupuncture Session

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that involves inserting fine, sterile needles into tense or painful muscle areas known as trigger points. This approach helps release muscle tightness, alleviate pain, and enhance mobility by stimulating the body's natural healing processes. Unlike acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine, dry needling is grounded in modern anatomical and neurological science. It is frequently used to treat a variety of conditions, including back and neck pain, headaches, and sports-related injuries.

Before your first session

Wear something you can move in. Loose trousers or shorts if it is a knee, hip or back problem, a vest or t-shirt if it is a shoulder or neck.

Bring what you have. Scan results, a letter from a consultant, a discharge summary after an operation, a list of your medication. If you have none of it, come anyway.

Think about what you want back. "Getting up the stairs without stopping" or "back to running 5k" tells us far more than a pain score out of ten.

Do not stop your painkillers for the appointment. Being in more pain than usual does not help us see anything, and it makes the assessment harder.

Home visits: we need somewhere you can lie down and about two metres of clear floor. A bed or a sofa is fine. Nothing else needs preparing.

Training sessions: bring water, and if you are training at home, clear a space about the size of a yoga mat.
